Parking & Accessibility
Our church offers plenty of parking right on site, including designated handicap-accessible spaces near the main entrance. Ramps and accessible entrances make it easy for everyone to enter and feel welcome.
St. Luke’s began as a mission congregation in February 1969, holding its first services in the parsonage of Pastor Paul Seiltz. In July 1974, the congregation broke ground for a permanent facility. Despite a devastating fire in June 2003 that consumed much of the church and fellowship hall, the community came together. Partnering with Builders for Christ, construction of a new church began in August 2003, strengthening ties within the congregation and with God. After just four months, the new church and fellowship area were dedicated. The updated facilities feature larger entry and fellowship spaces and can accommodate 120 people per service. In March 2010, a classroom wing was added to support further growth.
The fellowship area and classroom wing are home to the Jesus Loves Me Learning Center, a childcare facility directed and operated by St. Luke Lutheran Church. Rachel Lawrie became the center’s fourth director in July 2017. The Learning Center serves approximately 60 children from 45 families, providing a nurturing environment for learning and growth.
Evangelism has always been a focus for St. Luke, evolving over time. Before establishing the childcare center, evangelism efforts included annual canvassing and seasonal advertisements in local news publications, especially around Christmas and Easter. Vacation Bible School was a highlight, drawing up to 20 children.
With the opening of the childcare center, evangelism shifted toward friendship evangelism. Daily interactions with children and their families provide opportunities to share faith and build relationships. This approach has led to increased church visitors and new memberships. St. Luke also sponsors special events like Christmas and Easter for Kids, further strengthening community bonds.
